A parade of boats will highlight the festival. A "Most Patriotic Boat" will be recognized with a trophy.

MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Patriotism will be on display at the annual Armed Forces Appreciation Festival on Saturday, July 9 on Lake Mahopac, Mahopac, N.Y.

There will be a DJ, color guard, raffles, and barbecue picnic available, free to military service men and women and veterans.

The festival runs from noon to 5 p.m. at 897 South Lake Blvd., Mahopac, N.Y. 

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Marine Unit and the Putnam County PBA, as well as the local community is hosting the festival.

Donations will be accepted throughout the day with 100 percent of the funds passed along to the Disabled American Veterans.
